Margy Ziegler, founder of MZ Glassworks says “I never feel more alive than when I am in the studio creating with colorful glass. It lifts the mood and I love it’s natural reflective qualities.”
A graduate of MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) Margy Ziegler has explored and worked in a variety of mediums. Her art career began with a stint as a product designer for Life-Like Products, Inc. Then she was hired by Baltimore Magazine and became Production Director. A multi-faceted artist, she’s worked for the mid-Atlantic office of Multi-Media Electronics, too.
Hereford High and summer camps through the Hereford Recreation Council in northern Baltimore County have relied on her skills for many years to provide graphic tee shirts to promote their theatre productions and their thespians. Much of her freelance art work has drawn on her graphic design experience and she’s created business logos, website banners, business cards and more.
Her love for the art of stained-glass making began when she took an introductory class at Carroll County Community College. “I feel as if I really found my passion when I began piecing and fusing patches of colored glass together.” Margy appreciates custom stained-glass commissions because she’s able to use her creativity fully and her problem-solving skills get a good workout too!
MZ Glassworks takes great pride in scattering light and color everywhere!
